This morning I was thinking about the first article I wrote on the church page in the Spencer Magnet. It was about the rich man and Lazarus, the beggar.
As we look at the gospel of Luke 16:19 we see Lazarus, the beggar, died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom, which was in heaven, and we see the rich man also died and was buried.

As we leave 2011 and go into 2012, I would like to praise the Lord for being so good to Roberta and myself. I am 82 and she is 79 and God is with us. He has blessed us so much.
Some days are better than others, but as far back as I can remember it has always been like that. The amazing thing about living a life with God is that he makes you realize that no matter what comes your way, you can weather the storm through his love. When we take Jesus into our life we no longer live our life for ourselves, but live it for him.

I was talking to one of my daughters the other day, after she read one of my articles in the paper. She said, “Dad, you probably made a lot of people mad with that article.” My reply — “Maybe so, but I preached it in my church and everyone came back the next Sunday.”
I only preach and write what God lays on my heart, and one thing is for sure, I am going to stay true to God regardless of what he tells me to do.

As we look at how deceiving Satan really is, if we do not stay prayed up and stay in the word of God, he will devour us, because the only way we can defeat him is through Jesus Christ.
I believe the first thing we have to learn in the battle with Satan is that it’s a long way from our heads to our hearts.
By saying this, if we do not watch, we will fall into one of Satan’s traps. We will be trying to defeat him on our own strength and if we try to figure out where he is coming from without the grace of God that is exactly what he wants us to do.
