  • Dreams that make a difference

Last night I woke up laughing from a dream.  What I remember most vividly is an out of place baby elephant sitting in a watering trough spraying water all over my poor wife. Thinking about it even now I can’t help but chuckle, but I don’t know if I could explain it fully.  You’d have to know about the little white bull and the muddy cowboy for it to make sense.

  • See You At The Pole

A number of students at Spencer County High School arrived early for school last Wednesday to meet for the annual See You At The Pole prayer rally.

  • Students encouraged to meet for prayer event

All across the world, millions of students will gather at their schools’ flagpoles on Wednesday, September 27, to pray for their schools, friends, families, churches, communities and nation at the annual See You at the Pole™ (SYATP) event. SYATP is a day students are committed to global unity in Christ and interceding for their generation. The theme this year is “Fix Our Eyes” taken from “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus” in Hebrews 12:2.

  • Walls can be important

Look around you as you read this, you will probably see a wall close by.  That wall protects you; it keeps out the wind and the rain.  Walls hold up our roofs and hold in the heat.  Walls help define our homes and our workplaces, walls are all around us.

  • Being thoughtful - on purpose

Over a 12-year span at UCLA, American college basketball coach John Wooden won ten National Championships and their total of 11 remains a record today. Wooden is regarded as one of the most successful coaches in sports history, and more importantly an even greater person.

  • Seeking wisdom

When I think about having wisdom, I am reminded of King Solomon. If you remember the popular story about David and Bathsheba, Solomon was their only son and also became king of Israel after David passed away. In I Kings chapter 3, we read that Solomon sincerely loved God and obeyed His laws. Verse 4 records him offering 1000 burnt offerings upon the altars at Gibeon and as the story continues we notice that something very special happens to him. “The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, ask whatever you want and I will give it to you.”
