  • Thanksgiving

As long as I can remember, I’ve been celebrating Thanksgiving with my family.  As a kid, I remember going to my grandparents and sitting at the kids table.  I remember that Pop-Pop’s prayers always seemed way too long.

  • The wonder of it all

  • Pain can be good

Have you ever thought that maybe pain is a good thing?  I am not saying that we should enjoy pain; just that sometimes pain serves a purpose.  Pain warns us when something is wrong.  Often a little pain will stop us from experiencing even worse pain.

The Chamber of Commerce helped Love My Neighbor celebrate the grand opening of their new store on Garrard Street Saturday morning. The ministry, which provides free or low cost clothes and household goods, operates on donations and is staffed by volunteers. The new facility is more than twice the size of their existing building, and they were able to use volunteer labor to open their doors debt-free.

  • Life happens

Life happens to everybody.  The good, the bad, and the indifferent happen all the time.  Sometimes we plan a vacation and it turns out perfectly.  Or, we go see a movie and it is as good as we hoped.  Or, just sitting around talking to friends and family and you laugh until you cry.  Good times come and go.
