  • COLUMN: God is the supplier of our needs

Philippians 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Jesus Christ.”
I was thinking about how good God is and how he supplies all our needs. Now let’s take a look at our needs and wants. We might think we want a big mansion on a high hill and a limousine sitting in the garage and a job that pays $500,000 a year — if I had all this I could live it up.

  • COLUMN: A prayer of Thanksgiving

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and most of us will gather around dinner tables with family and friends and offer thanks.  We’ll be thankful for our families.  We’ll be thankful for our health.  We’ll give thanks that we have a job.  We may give thanks for a new baby in the family, or even for a new car.  Some will give thanks for the freedoms we share as a nation.  Others may thank God for saving faith and the gift of Jesus.

  • COLUMN: America should heed the warning God gave Israel

When I was studying 1 Corinthians 10, it laid on my heart because I know people in America are living the same sinful life that Israel was living when Moses led them through the wilderness.
Even though all were baptized the same way, all eat and drink the same spiritual food and drink, some did not please God.

  • COLUMN: Everyday dangers

Everyone has had to do it, but I don’t think anyone likes it.  Yes, you’ve done it too! I’m talking about using a public restroom.  Whether you are on the highway or in the mall or even visiting at the hospital, sometimes you just have to visit the facilities.

  • COLUMN: Columnist: God will judge

I know I write a lot about how sinful our country is. Believe me, I write what Jesus lays on my heart to write.
The reason I changed my registration from Democrat to Republican was because I thought the Republican party – even though it was wrong in a lot of decisions it makes – was right more than the Democrats.

  • COLUMN: God’s heart aches for us

Have you ever been struck by something and found such a profound truth in it that you didn’t quite know how to express it?  That’s how I feel today.  I’m not sure if I can explain in a few simple words the thunderbolt that hit my heart watching the video for the song “Hello World” by Lady Antebellum.  You can find it on YouTube.

  • COLUMN: Columnist says the best choice is to ‘Choose Jesus’

A country song a few years ago was titled, “The Choices We Have Made,” and I thought about the choices we make. Some are good choices, some are bad choices, some are better and some are worse.
The very best choice we can make is to receive Jesus as our savior and follow him. If we do follow Jesus and never look back, all the choices we make will be great ones.

  • COLUMN: Getting breakfast right

Are you a breakfast person? I generally am not, and I think I pay the price for it. Now don’t get me wrong, I love breakfast, I just rarely take the time to eat it.  And I can hear some of you now saying, “Remember, breakfast is the most important meal of the day..”
