Here is a reading from Jeremiah 29:
Verses 10-13 say, “This is what the Lord says: ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’ ”
A wise person once told me that, “If you fail to plan…then you plan to fail.”
This is something worth thinking about. For example:

A while back someone sent me a story that I would like to share with you today.
Here’s the story:
Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams, when the first tree said,
“Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the beauty.”

Donations need for First Baptist Dare to Care
On the last Thursday of each month, First Baptist Church distributes boxes of food to those in need as part of the Dare to Care program.
Dare to Care organization supplies have become less plentiful, and organizers are asking for contributions from the community.
“Corporate sponsors would be most welcome, as well as private citizens of the community willing to open their hearts and wallets to meet these needs on a regular basis,” organizers said.

Christmas day has come and gone. Today many of us are enjoying a few minutes to catch our breath.  There are probably still a few lingering presents under the tree or maybe one more family get together, but the explosion of wrapping paper and Christmas Stockings is pretty much done.
Now we are waiting for the New Year.
