As we look at evil ways in our life, the dictionary gives this meaning for evil: 1) something bad, sin, wickedness, evil quality or act. 2) a thing that does harm; crime and poverty are some of the evils of society.
Many times I hear in our society about how evil we have gotten in our country, but most of us know it does not have to be this way.
David wrote in Psalms 23:4, “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Elaine Koch of Taylorsville recently received an award for her service through the Southern Baptist and Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief ministry.
The awards were presented last Tuesday in Des Moines, Iowa, as part of the annual Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Roundtable.
A member of Redemption Hill Baptist Church in Fisherville, Koch received the Joel W. Phillips Outstanding Achievement Award.
Two outstanding achievement awards are presented annually from among nominees across the country.

This morning, I was thinking about how hard it was for me to control my tongue. Here are some of the troubles I have: many times I get started talking and don’t know when to stop. Many times I blurt in when someone else is talking and many times I have said something that did not come out the way I meant it to be, but if I tried to correct it it only got worse. This is just a few ways that I have mentioned losing control of my tongue and I am sure there are many more. I hope everyone does not have the same trouble controlling their tongue.

Today I was at the store and I noticed that a half-gallon of milk cost about $2.20, while a gallon cost about $2.90. Does that strike anyone as a little strange? Only 70 cents for that second half-gallon?
But then again a couple of days ago I was buying some canned dog food. Now it is certainly easier to buy a shrink wrapped package of 6 or twelve cans, but then I looked at the price. For the same dog food, the individual cans were considerably LESS expensive per can. Does something seem wrong with that?
