    Michael and Krystal Campbell of Taylorsville announce the birth of their son, Miles Dean Campbell, on Nov. 22, 2013, at Baptist East Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds. 13.2 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    He was welcomed by grandparents Ruth Moore-May, Ken Moore and Patricia and Dennis Spencer.
    His great-grandparents are Oneita Moore and Sam and Betty Campbell.

  • Women’s Bible study at First Baptist
    First Baptist Church will host a Beth Moore women’s Bible study titled, “David: Seeking a heart like his,” beginning Monday. There will be two sessions, 9:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

  • Another season of American Idol has kicked off and once again hopefuls are auditioning across the country. And though I don’t really watch, I have seen a few episodes and it is the auditions that amaze me.
    You can watch for a few minutes and see the anxious and hopeful faces, hoping to experience a dream come true. And many of those men and women are amazingly talented, but then there are the others. If you have seen the show then you know the ones I mean.
