    Our Supreme Court ruled a 2,700-page Health Care bill was constitutional; 39 years ago, our Supreme Court ruled that abortion was constitutional and last year three churches in Louisville got together and celebrated the 38th anniversary of this event.

  • Today I had one of those moments when I thought I had everything under control. That was my first big mistake. My second was thinking I knew where the one vital piece of paperwork I needed was sitting. As you can probably guess, it was not there.
    Panic ensued. Like most men would do, I called my wife because she always knows where everything is. But then again, the mess in my office could probably qualify for federal disaster relief funding, so I was grasping at straws.
    To my disappointment, but not my surprise, she only thought of the places I had already looked.

    Do you know of any golfing gadgets or equipment that can help senior golfers? My 78-year-old dad loves to play golf, but arthritis in his hands makes griping the club difficult. He also has a hard time bending over to tee up or retrieve the ball. Is there anything out there that can help?

Well, when this happens it can be a mild or major source of irritation, even anger.

  • Aaron and Jamie Ware of Mount Eden announce the birth of their daughter, Leah Mae Lynn Ware, on June 23, 2012, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    She weighed 8 pounds and was 19 1/2 inches long.
    Her grandparents are Dean and Lisa Ware. Her great-grandparents are Maxie and Terry Ahearn.

  • The Spencer County Fair 4-H and FFA Hog Show was this past Saturday.  Thank you to Mallory Penick of Independence for serving as the judge for this show.

  • The 2012 District 3 4-H Tractor Contest was Monday, July 16, at the Spencer County Fairgrounds. All participants, from Spencer, Shelby and Henry counties, took a knowledge skill test, inspected the tractors and drove through an obstacle course, while using the safety procedures they learned in 4-H.
