    Risen Lord movie night

  • 1 John 4:7-21 – Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herin is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

  • When I was growing up, I heard about David the shepherd boy slaying the giant with a sling. I never could understand how this could happen because I tried throwing one of these things and could not hit anything that I threw at.

When I grew older and accepted God as my Savior, now I can see how this happened. All David had to do is throw the stone and God did the rest.

The Bible says David was a man after God’s own heart. Even though David was extremely close to God, one night he underestimated the power of Satan.

    Women’s Bible Study

  • Two weeks ago I asked “what more Mother Nature?”  Well, another gusty wind storm was served up adding to the collection of debris left by the ice storm.  Some serious questions are coming in about what to take out and what to try and save.  I am not a certified arborist but I can pass on the guidelines that certified arborists are taught when it comes to tree assessment and risk management.  These criteria may help you decide what to do now and in the future.

  • This past Sunday I was leaving church after the morning services I was truly blessed.  Several folks were gathered around discussing their faith.  They were talking about their Sunday school lesson and drew me into their conversation.

  • Women’s Bible study

The women’s ministry at First Baptist Church will be conducting the Bible study titled “Esther, It’s Tough Being a Woman,” by Beth Moore.  Moore pulls back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to women today. 9:15 -11:15 a.m. First Baptist Church

6:30 - 8:30 p.m.  at the home of Charlotte Nedros
