Today's Features

  •  The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ Law Enforcement Division is looking for a different kind of recruit. Only those with four legs and a tail need apply.

    The division’s K-9 unit needs four new donated dogs to add to its patrol. Nine dogs currently assist Kentucky conservation officers with their duties.

  •  As I opened my eyes, I was dizzy and confused; my familiar world was gone. My computer had disappeared, my bright desk lamp was now an oil lantern and the TV had vanished! As I tried to digest what I saw, it became clear. While holding the penny tightly and closing my eyes, I had traveled back in time. I didn’t know if it was an overactive imagination or the traumatic experience of the Ferris wheel, but somehow, I had journeyed to 1909 – and had brought my family with me.

  •  The SCES dance team partcipated at the Kentucky State Fair dance competition through NDA on August 23 in the youth Hip Hop division. The girls received first place and a bid to NDA nationals.

    ESL Class at Parkland Hills Baptist Church

  •  Life as a potato digger was tough. For starters, I had to get up with the chickens. After a hearty breakfast, Mom handed me a lunch pail that usually contained a left over biscuit and a piece of bacon from breakfast, and then I walked what seemed an endless two-mile trek to the potato garden. I remembered reading a book about Abraham Lincoln that said he once walked 20 miles to borrow a book. I decided I shouldn’t complain, but be thankful that I didn’t have 18 miles to go.
