  • by NED WAY
When we see Jesus at the Last Supper with his disciples, we see him very much in control and very much the Son of God. Mark records this event in his book. In chapter 14, starting at verse 22, it seems he didn’t have many cares. He was glad to be with his disciples. Mark even states he sang a hymn with them. (vs.26)

  • My snow shovel is getting worn out. The snow seems gone for this year and my poor shovel is not far behind. I think we shoveled our driveway four or five times in the last month and my back and my shovel have paid the price.
Thankfully, some years the storms pass us by, but the fact is that storms do come. We get snow about every year, maybe not 18 to 20 inches, but we can be pretty sure the snow will come, and sometimes a LOT will come. Right now the snow is melted, but I know before too long, I’ll need a new snow shovel.

  • What comes to your mind when you hear the word “sin?” How about words like disobedience, rebellion, failure, and guilt? Most people don’t like to think about their sin and what it does to themselves and others. I don’t like to think about sin, because it is ugly and it is painful. As a pastor, I wish I could tell you that I do not struggle with sin, but it would not be true. I am a repentant sinner that needs the forgiveness of Jesus. I need Jesus to fight against the temptations of my sinful nature and the temptation of the devil.

  • DEAR DR. ROACH: I am in my 60s. About 40 years ago, I had a case of shingles. Can shingles reoccur, or having once had it am I protected from having it again? I’ve been given conflicting information about whether I need to be vaccinated. -- M.F.

DEAR DR. ROACH: I heard a report from a recent study that said a person who has shingles early in life is more likely to suffer a stroke. Would you please explain why? -- A.L.R.

  • The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass can form the basis for numerous trips and adventures this summer, and it’s a bargain at $80.
