  • When Jesus came to this earth it was not for glory or to be glorified. I am sure it was not glorious for Jesus to be born of a peasant Jewish girl, instead of a queen. I am sure it was not glorious for Jesus to be born in a stable full of animals, instead of a palace. Jesus came not to be glorified, but to serve.

    The 4-H Teen Summit provides young people with essential leadership skills that can help them mature into successful, community minded adults. The Teen Summit is a middle school age 4-H leadership conference and 4-H Teen Conference is a high school age leadership conference.   • Spring planting of strawberries is recommended for Kentuckiana, as early as March. The key to a good crop is to plant them in the right spot and to choose the right variety… and this is where it can be a little confusing.

  • Gospel Sing at Riverview Baptist
    There will be a Fish Fry and Gospel Sing for Northern Lights Missions on Saturday, April 18, at 4:30 p.m. at Riverview Baptist Church, 1850 Louisville Road.
    Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children under 10. The event will feature the groups Victory Road and Gospel I’s. There will also be a cake auction. Tickets will be sold at the door or see church members for details.

  • As you are well aware, last Sunday was Easter. Hopefully you were able to join one of the many churches here in Spencer County for a “resurrection experience.” The cross is truly a sign of God’s love toward us. We are reminded of the agony Jesus went though on the cross and His glorious resurrection needed to pay the price of our sins.

  • We all have those sleepless nights from time to time, some of us more often than others. I have been plagued with a touch of insomnia all my life. Sometimes I just call it being a night person, but it really just means I don’t sleep well. I don’t know when it actually started, but I can remember sleepless or at least very restless nights even back when I was in grade school.
