Monday barn fire claims two horses

Tim Armstrong could do little but stand and watch as the barn he built nearly 20 years ago went up in flames Monday evening. Making it even more heartbreaking, was the fact that two horses perished in the flames.

The fire on Woodland Hills Drive began just a little before 5 p.m. Armstrong said he’s pretty sure what started the fire. He had just finished mowing through heavy leaves. He parked the mower and thinks leaves on the hot mower deck may have ignited.
