  • Charles 'Buster' Huff Sr., 67

    Charles “Buster” Huff Sr., 67, of Shelbyville, died Aug. 19, 2012, in Simpsonville.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Adell Bolin Huff.
    Survivors include daughters, Melissa “Missy” Murray, of LaGrange, Margaret Hall, of Buckner, Charlene Huff, of LaGrange, and Paula Ashcraft, of Milton; sons, Charles “Chuck” Huff Jr., of Taylorsville, and Timothy Huff, of Simpsonsville.
    Visitation is today, Aug. 22, from 1-6 p.m. at Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville.

  • Mary B. Robinson, 91

    Mary B. Robinson, 91, of Taylorsville, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Signature Health Care of Spencer County. A native of Spencer County, she was the daughter of the late Elva and Maude McClain Bentley and the widow of J. B. “Jack” Robinson.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth A. Robinson.
    Survivors include her son, Gerald Robinson and his wife, Sheryl, of Taylorsville.

  • Ada May Stevens, 71

    Ada May Stevens, 71, of Taylorsville, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
    Born in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Charley William and Margaret Dona Fuller Lee.
    Mrs. Stevens attended Little Union Baptist Church and was a former employee of American Greetings in Bardstown. She was also a farmer, homemaker and the bookkeeper for Stevens and Sons Tractor Sales. Along with her husband, she was a tractor and truck pulling enthusiast.

  • Irma Dant Thomas, 89

    Irma Dant Thomas, 89, of Loretto, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, John Felix Thomas; her parents, Walter Simeon and Mary Evelyn Mattingly Dant; one daughter, Phillis Ann Thomas; one sister, Patsy Miller; and two brothers, Lyle and Lester Ray Dant.

    Jason Scott Thompson, 36, of Mount Eden, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, in Spencer County as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Louisville, he was raised in Spencer County.

  • Jim Helton, 79

    Jim Helton, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at his residence in Waterford. A native of Nelson County, he was the son of the late Albert Sidney and Flora Belle Hagan Helton.
    Survivors include his wife, Doris Darnell Helton of Taylorsville; his sons, Gene A. Helton and Terry Helton, both of Taylorsville, and Robert Helton of Louisville; his brothers, Tom Helton of Bloomfield and Joe Helton of Taylorsville; and his sister, Martha Ann Cox also of Taylorsville.

  • Lilly Catherine Smith Parrott, 78

    Lilly Catherine Smith Parrott, 78, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at her son’s home.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles Parrott Sr.; and five siblings, Norma Jean Otterbach, Frankie French, Princie Scott, Ed Smith Jr. and Jimmy Smith.
    She was survived by two sons, Charles Parrott Jr. and his wife, Kim, and Ray Parrott and his wife, Lynn; one daughter, Cheryl Parrott-Brown and her husband, Don; one brother, David Smith; and four sisters, Mary Humphrey, Iva “Blondie” Rutledge, Grace Buechel and Helen Tate.

  • William T. 'Bill' Warford, 81

    William T. “Bill” Warford, 81, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Masonic Home of Shelbyville. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Anna Mae Perry Warford.
    Survivors include his sons, Ricky Warford, and his wife, Karen, Kevin Warford, and his wife, Melinda, and Michael Warford and his wife, Wendy, all of Shelbyville; his daughter, Marcia Mitchum, and her husband, Gary, also of Shelbyville; his brother, Earl Warford and his wife, Wanda, of Shelbyville; and his sister, Eleanor Warford of Shelbyville.

    Terry Dean Griffin, 60, of Mount Eden, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville.

  • William 'Bill' Allen Karnes, 77

    William “Bill” Allen Karnes, 77, of Taylorsville, passed away at his residence Aug. 6, 2012.
    He was the son of the late Allen Sanders and Kathleen Edwards Karnes. He was retired from Ford Motor Company after 45 years of service and was a member of the National Guard. He was the Past Master of the McNeal Masonic Lodge No. 586 and Sunset Lodge No. 915.  He was also a member of the Kosair Shriners.
    He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha J. Frye, his parents, and a sister, Pearline Karnes Mitchell.
