    Mr. Justin Keith Hilbert, age 35, passed away at U. K. Medical Center Lexington, Kentucky on May 21, 2015. Justin was a graduate of Butler High School in Louisville and worked as a self employed general contractor.

  • James L. Richardson, 87

     

    James L. Richardson, 87, of Spencer County, died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. Born on Ashes Creek in Spencer County, he was the son of the late James Henderson and Mamie Shouse Richardson, and the widower of Christine Chesser Richardson. He was a member of the Briar Ridge Christian Church, and a farmer. His favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting.

    In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Chesser, and his daughter-in-law, Terri Richardson.

  • Johnnie Snider Shelburne, 71

     

    Mr. Johnnie Snider Shelburne, 71, passed away May 23, 2015, at Norton Hosparus in Louisville. He was born in Spencer County and was the son of the late Artis and Ruby Nation Shelburne. He retired as a maintenance technician for Industrial Powder Coating in Shelbyville after 16 years of service and was of the Catholic Faith.

    Mr. Shelburne was preceded in death by his parents; brother Kenneth Shelburne; brother Garnett and sister-in-law Rosetta Shelburne; grandparents Odis and Sallie Jane Shelburne Nation, and Oscar and Bessie Nation.

  • Clara Mae Whitaker Travis Armstrong, 92

    Clara Mae Whitaker Travis Armstrong, 92, of Taylorsville, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville. Born in Spencer County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sally King Whitaker, and the widow of Hubert Travis and the widow of John W. Armstrong. She was a member of the Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville. A homemaker and farmer, she was also the former co-owner and operator of the old Finchville Grocery, and she also formerly worked at the Elk Creek Grocery.

    Anna Marie Shields Hochstrasser, 85, of Taylorsville, died Saturday, May 16, 2015.

    Born on June 24, 1929, in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Minnie Greenwell Shields.

Eden; Kevin and Janice Medley, Finchville; great grandparents, Barbara Jenkins, Lansing, Michigan; Junie and Phyllis Temple, Mt. Eden; Sam and Joyce Medley, Finchville; Dorothy Long, Shelbyville; and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Wallace Frank Whitehouse, 83, of Shelbyville, formerly of Louisville, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at his residence. Born in Louisville, he was the son of the late Hiram Lindsey and Estella Eva Zeiser Whitehouse.

    Survivors include his wife, Ellen Myers Whitehouse of Shelbyville; son, David L. Whitehouse and his wife, Jennifer, of Louisville; daughter, Mary W. Voigt and her partner, Nicholas W. Murphy, of Shelbyville; and three grandchildren.
