    Habitat for Humanity Valentine’s
    Dinner and Silent Auction

    The Spencer County Habitat for Humanity will hold a Valentine’s Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, February 10, at the Spencer County Extension Office beginning at 6:30 p.m.
    Tickets are $12 and are available at the Tea Cup and the Red Scooter or by calling Steve Hesselbrock.
    Habitat for Humanity is now accepting items for the silent auction. To donate or for more information, contact Steve Hesselbrock at 507-3940.

    Spencer County Public Library events

     Join us for Dad Dayz Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, June 18th starting anytime between 10:30 a.m. and noon.  Get a group together and start at the library.  The hunt will take you through Taylorsville.
    Learn and play Old Fashion Games and make your own marble on Tuesday, June 21st.  There are spaces available at 12:30 and 2 p.m. Call 477-8137 to reserve your space.

    Boys eighth-grade night is Thursday at SCMS
    Spencer County Middle School boys basketball will have eighth-grade night Thursday at SCMS. The ceremony will start at 7 p.m., preceded by both sixth- and seventh-grade games starting at 5:15 and followed by the eighth-grade game. “Please help us celebrate the accomplishments of these young men,” Coach Scott Noel said. “They have worked very hard this year and their current record is 20-2.”

    The Spencer County Public Library is hosting a new book club starting Friday at noon.
    In a press release, the library noted the 10 following reasons why you should consider joining the book club:

    •The club provides lively discussions/debates,
    •You can read outside of your comfort zone,
    •You have a good reason to turn off the television,
