Local businesses have reported receiving an official looking letter from Corporate Records Service instructing them to submit $125 along with a "2013 Annual Minutes Form," but this letter and form are a scam and should be disregarded, according to the Better Business Bureau and the Kentucky Secretary of State's office.

The Spencer County Fiscal Court will ask Superintendent Chuck Adams and the Spencer County Board of Education if they are interested in partnering to fund a school resource officer from the Spencer County Sheriff’s Department.
The Fiscal Court voted 5-1 Monday morning to voluntarily enter into discussions with the school district.
Judge-Executive Bill Karrer was the lone dissenting vote, stating that the district needs to determine its own needs.

Just exactly how much money the district will owe to help make up for the deficit is still unknown, but the ordeal has left local and state education officials angry and with numerous questions.
