Thomas Morsey filed Monday to run for Elk Creek Magistrate.
Morsey, 56, is an excavation contractor and soybean/cattle farmer, and is running for public office for the first time.
“If you don’t try to make change, don’t complain about the changes being made,” he said of his main reason for running.
He sites 30 years as a self-employed businessman as credentials for fiscal responsibility.
“The county is just like an individual. We’ve got to live within our means,” Morsey said.
