Cameron Ponder was more than just a former student-athlete to North Hardin High School coach and teacher James Webb. He was a close friend.
When Webb’s yard wasn’t taking shape, it was Ponder who suggested the grass needed pH balance, went and got it and treated the lawn.
When Webb needed a babysitter, he turned to Ponder.
And when it was time for Ponder to seek a reference as he sought to become a Kentucky State Police trooper following more than five years in the U.S. Navy, he turned to Webb, his former track and football coach.
