  • AG issues rulings on open records complaint

    The Office of the Attorney General has issued three recent open records/open meetings opinions stemming from situations in Spencer County.
    The AG’s Office found the Mt. Eden Fire Protection District violated the open records law, but concluded that the Spencer County Fire Protection District and the Spencer County Attorney’s Office did not violate the law by their responses to requests for information.

  • Grand Jury Indictments

    Gregory Barkham, of 449 Inghram Lane in Taylorsville, was indicted by a Spencer County Grand Jury March 19, 2015, on one felony count of first-degree assault.

  • Court Records

    Judge Donna Dutton heard the following cases on November 7, 2014, in Spencer District Court:

    Felony:
    John Bradley Farris, (1986), public intoxication controlled substance (excludes alcohol); drug paraphernalia - buy/possess; tampering with physical evidence, amended to attempting to tamper with physical evidence, guilty, 365 days, conditionally discharged 2 years, Kentucky Alternative Program, quarterly review, $253 court costs and fines.

  • Property transfers

    The following are property transfers collected from the Spencer County Clerk’s office for December, 2014 and January, 2015:

    December 18, 2014: IBP 1, LLC of Eastpoint Parkway, Louisville to Majid Kashan and Ali Kassai of Audubon Pkwy., Louisville, three tracts more specifically described in deed book 264, pages 748 and 749, in the Spencer County Clerk’s office, $59,675.

    December 12, 2014: Ruth Shields of Van Buren Rd., Mt. Eden to Jason Payne and Kelly Payne of Woods Ln., Elizabethtown, a lot more specifically described in deed book 264 page 643, in the Spencer County Clerk’s office, $120,000.

    April 30, 2014: James K. Jenkins of Newman Way, Mt. Washington and Josephine T. Jenkins of Mt.     Misdemeanor:
    Bobby D. Park (1992), fourth-degree assault domestic violence minor injury, guilty, sentenced to 180 days conditionally discharged for two years, quarterly review with checks, no contact with victim; resisting arrest, guilty, sentenced to 180 days conditionally discharged for two years to be served concurrently, $153 court costs to be deferred.

    Marion Carney (1961), operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs first offense aggravator first, amended to no aggravator guilty by way of Alford plea. Sentencing to follow.

    Michelle L. Miller (1978), no/expired registration plates, guilty; no/expired Kentucky registration receipt, guilty, $183 total court costs and fines to be paid in installments/deferred payment.
