The following cases were heard by Judge Matthew Eckert in Spencer District Court Feb. 8, 2013:

Traffic:
Jonathan B. Oliver (1988), no insurance, first offense, guilty, $500 fine and $143 court costs, covert to 30 days jail, 30 days credit for time served.

Destiny L. Wright (1993), speeding 12 miles over the legal limit, guilty, state traffic school and $143 court costs.

Carla S. Shepherd (1973), speeding 12 miles over the legal limit, guilty, $167 in total fines and court costs.

The Taylorsville Police Department issued the following citations from Feb. 4 through Feb. 10:

Billy J. Hardin, 37, of the 1300 block of Grays Run Road, was cited Feb. 4 for no registration plates and no registration receipt.

Chad T. Kinser, 33, of the 4500 block of Bloomfield Road, was arrested Feb. 4 and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs-first offense, reckless driving and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.

The following cases were heard in Spencer District Court on Jan. 25, 2013, by Judge David Hayse:

Traffic:
Justin M. Back (1984), failure to wear seat belts, guilty, $25 fine to be paid in installments/deferred payment.

Justin M. Back (1984), speeding 16 miles over the legal limit, amended to speeding 15 miles over the legal limit, guilty, $30 fine and court costs to be paid in installments/deferred payment; failure to wear seat belts, guilty, $25 fine.

The following property transfers were recently recorded in the Spencer County Clerk’s Office:

On Dec. 29, 2012, Raymond E. Higgs and Margarita Nancy Higgs, 654 Burgin Noel Road in Bloomfield, to Raymond E. Higgs and Margarita Nancy Higgs, 654 Burgin Noel Road in Bloomfield, tract number 5 and tract number 4 of the James Edward Noel Jr. agricultural division, as described in deed book 250, page 458, $188,000 fair cash value.
