    Spencer County Middle School Principal, Ed Downs presented Robyn Baxter, Media Center Specialist with the Educator of the Year award from the Kentucky P.T.A.  Baxter had been nominated by the middle school’s P.T.A.

  • LETTER: Once a proud Democrat

    I have been having discussions with several Democrats lately and I am amazed at what I’ve been hearing.  Let me begin by saying that I was a registered Democrat for 25 years.  I have been a Republican for only 19 years. What happened? The Democrat party went too far to the left and it has continued the drift.

  • Grizzlies on their way to a regular season title

    Spencer County Middle School’s Grizzly Football team pushed their conference record to 6-0 on Tuesday night with a big win over North Washington Middle School. The Grizzlies would start off stong and coast their way to a 41-0 victory over the Patriots.

    VFW Post 11426 and the Ladies Auxiliary held a POW/MIA Ceremony at the Wall of Honor in Taylorsville September 19 to honor those still missing-in-action.  Representative Brad Montell (at left) spoke about how these soldiers should never be forgotten. County Judge David Jenkins read a proclamation declared by President Bush that “this day be declared National POW/MIA Day.” Magistrates Hobert Judd and Bill Drury also spoke on the importance of never forgetting what our soldiers in the past and today are doing to keep our country free.
