  • Peace in the storm

    The storms of life, it is not a question about if they will come but when they will come. Let us spend a few moments together contemplating this matter.
    Matt 14:22 to 24: Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

    While many retirees choose to stop paying their life insurance premiums when they no longer have young families to take care of, there are a few reasons you may still want to keep your policy. Here are some different points to consider that can help you determine if you still need life insurance in retirement.

  • Perfect weather expected for dove season

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – The diminishing daylight hours, foggy mornings and slightly different angle of the daytime sun informs hunters the best time of year is upon us.
    Dove season opens on Labor Day, Mon., Sept. 1 statewide. This season, hunters have an additional 20 days to pursue doves, with most of those days scheduled for the last two segments of the season. The opening segment of dove season closes Oct. 26. Dove season opens again Nov. 27 and closes Dec. 7. The third segment opens Dec. 20 and closes Jan. 11, 2015.

    Mo’ne Davis throws like a girl. She should, she is a 13-year-old girl who is the 18th female to participate in the Little League World Series. This girl’s throws are good enough to fool most of the boy batters, and she was able to complete a six-inning shutout in her Philadelphia team’s win over a Tennessee squad last week.
