  • Bears fall to Henry in OT

A failed two-point conversion in overtime sent Spencer County to its third straight loss of the season Friday, with a score of 34-33 to Henry County. While many will remember that final snap, the game hinged on a couple of other big plays on special teams by the visiting Wildcats.

A blocked field goal that was returned for a touchdown, and a kickoff returned for a score were crucial as Henry County kept pace with a Bears team that looked much sharper than in previous weeks.

  • Seeking wisdom

When I think about having wisdom, I am reminded of King Solomon. If you remember the popular story about David and Bathsheba, Solomon was their only son and also became king of Israel after David passed away. In I Kings chapter 3, we read that Solomon sincerely loved God and obeyed His laws. Verse 4 records him offering 1000 burnt offerings upon the altars at Gibeon and as the story continues we notice that something very special happens to him. “The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, ask whatever you want and I will give it to you.”
