By granting GOP super-majorities for the first time in both the Senate and the House, Kentuckians made it clear that they were tired of “business as usual” in Frankfort.

  • Active week for TSCFD

    Local first responders were busy this past week, working a number of calls, including at least two injury accidents.

    The Taylorsville Spencer County Fire Department reported the following calls this week:

    May 3 - Traffic accident at Waterford Park with injuries and utility lines down.

    May 3 - Abandoned house fire on Bloomfield Road. The house was a total loss and the fire is under investigation.

    May 4 - Injury accident on Louisville Road with entrapment.

  • Bears take 2-1 win over Shelby

     

    The Spencer County Bears prevailed in a 2-1 contest with Shelby County last week at home. The Bears’ Cody Tindle knocked in two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to erase a 1-0 Shelby County lead, and Jackson Cole held the Rockets to just three hits on the day as the Bears improved to 7-16 on the season.

  • Lady Bears fall hard at Anderson

     

    The Spencer County Lady Bears are having one of their best seasons ever, but they’re mired in a tough district in which both Anderson County and Collins are at the top of their games as well.

    The girls split a two-game series with Collins the week before, and last week, dropped an 11-1 decision at Anderson County.
