    Have you ever read this verse in the Bible? “Man who is born of a woman is few of days and full of trouble.” (Job 14:1 ESV)  Now Job is a man who had plenty of troubles, so I can understand how he comes to this conclusion.  But then it occurred to me, I hear a lot of people with the same complaint.

    Vaunted rushing attack has all but vanished

    The past couple of seasons, it’s not been uncommon to see lopsided scores in the fourth quarter of Spencer County High School football games. However, until this season, the bowed and dejected heads are usually on the other sideline.
    On Thursday night, it was the Bears who seemed demoralized during a 56-8 loss at home to rival Bullitt East. That’s just one week after a 38-13 loss to Bullitt Central.

  • Lady Bears Soccer

     

    The Spencer County Lady Bears soccer team dropped to 1-5 on the season with a 5-1 loss at home to Thomas Nelson last Wednesday evening.

    The Lady Bears will travel to Franklin County Wednesday and will be at Louisville Collegiate on Thursday.

    Houston and parts of southwest Texas continue to dry out and rebuild following historic flooding brought on by Hurricane Harvey late last month. But a flood of local goodwill delivered by some Spencer Countians will make the job easier.

  • School board hikes tax

    When the Spencer County Board of Education approved a tax hike last year, they said they were approaching a line they would not cross, with Superintendent Chuck Adams suggesting that 65 cents per $100 was the limit. Last Thursday night, the board voted in a tax increase that slightly crossed that line at 65.2 cents.

    It was a decision that sparked anger from one board member, suggesting that elected officials in Frankfort have forced local districts into raising taxes.
