Those instances may continue to have negative effects on our lives unless we learn how to begin “shedding” those things, which we may have struggled with in the years before emerging into adulthood.

I went over to ask her a question about something only to discover she did not work there. On closer examination I realized she was one of those extreme coupon people and she was just checking her list.

    Mt. Moriah plans ‘Come to the Country’ indoor yard sales
    Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Mount Eden is hosting a “Come to the Country” indoor yard sale on the second Saturday each month during the summer. The sale will be on May 11, June 8 and July 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Set up will begin at 7 a.m.
    Call Anne at 502-738-5350 to reserve a table. The cost is $20, and money raised will benefit the missions at the church.

  • PHOTO: Lady Bears fall to Lady Chargers

    A Bullitt East base runner beats a throw to second base that Spencer County shortstop Allie Sharp is fielding as second baseman Elisabeth Huckleberry backs her up on the play. The lady Bears fell 13-0 to the Lady Chargers last Tuesday and are suffering through a 2-20 season so far. The girls were to be back in action Monday, weather permitting, against Collins and will play on Wednesday as they host Bullitt Central at 5:30 p.m. They are set to travel to Christian Academy of Louisville on Thursday at 5 and will play Sacred Heart at Jeffersonville on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

    Our theme for the week.
    • Jarrod Polson, Jon Hood and Twany Beckham received their undergraduate degrees at the University of Kentucky on Sunday. A momentous achievement. Then an Internet site hoisted a photo of Polson and Hood in their robes posing with John Calipari.
    The image prompted one viewer to quip: “What a rare eBay item that is. A picture of graduating basketball players with John Calipari in it.”
    My God, that guy said exactly what I was thinking.
