For two Spencer County Youth, their dreams came true last week just outside Athens, GA.  Nathan Conard and Dalton Jones have been teammates and opponents for the last 4 years at Jeffersontown Youth Baseball.  They were able to join sides once again to participate on the 11- year-old all-star team which represented the city of Jeffersontown and the state of Kentucky at the 2009 Dizzy Dean World Series in Jackson County Georgia.

 Blue Grass Energy announced today that it has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with a 2009 ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award.

 This award recognizes Blue Grass Energy’s efforts to promote energy-efficient construction and environmental protection by sponsoring an ENERGY STAR for New Homes program in its service area last year.

 Blue Grass Energy first began using Energy Star guidelines for its Touchstone Energy Home program in 2005. BGEnergy members get a free home energy rating (HERS), valued at $500.

I have sat back and read the charges against David Jenkins in our newspaper for weeks now. What happened to “innocent until proven guilty”? I suppose that doesn’t apply with our editor of the Spencer Magnet. According to the on-line poll a couple of weeks ago, this is embarrassing to our county. I agree with that, so please Ms. Bass let it go.

I am writing this regarding the letter that was wrote last week about the Spencer County Youth Football program.

I’m a proud parent of a mighty mite player. This is my son’s third year on the team. The first year, my son played for the team, he didn’t get in the game that much. but he did get to know the game, because when he started he didn’t know anything about football. The second year, he got more playing time.
