Kentucky has made progress in four of five categories of postsecondary education performance, according to Measuring Up 2008: The National Report Card on Higher Education.

State public health officials are encouraging Kentuckians to get a flu vaccination during National Influenza Vaccination Week, Dec. 8-14, to reduce the spread of illness this holiday season.

“What’s to-day!” cried Scrooge, calling down to a boy in Sunday clothes. “What’s today, my fine fellow?” said Scrooge.

“Today!” replied the boy. “Why, Christmas Day.”

More Kentuckians, particularly older children and teens, should get a booster vaccine to prevent the onset of pertussis, a highly contagious disease more commonly known as whooping cough, the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) announced today.
