 The other night my wife was leading our kids through a nativity set that deals with the question: “What does God want for Christmas?”  

State and local road crews are preparing for the season's first ice storm as a wintry front heads toward Spencer and neighboring counties today.

"We're ready for snow, ice or whatever," said Collis Rogers, Spencer County road supervisor.

Rogers said his crew of nine employees are prepared to be called out at a moments notice if road conditions worsen with falling temperatures. Their plan of action would be to spread cinders across 200 miles of county-maintained roads.

Court of Justice offers continuing legal education for Circuit Court and Family Court judges

Circuit Judges Charles R. Hickman and John David Myles, who serve Anderson, Shelby and Spencer counties, participated in the 2008 Circuit Judge’s College held Oct. 26-30 in Covington. The Administrative Office of the Courts offered the college for Circuit Court judges and Family Court judges throughout the state.
