It’s nice we have a county clerk that will be responsible and honest on the job. It’s fitting that Lynn Hesselbrock be chosen to finish out the position of county clerk, after all, she did run for the position and was a close second. With all the issues in the office why would Judge-Executive Bill Karrer want to appoint someone in the office as a replacement and possibly have the same old, same old problems?

To the victor, go the spoils, a high ranking republican told me, concerning the recent appointment of Lynn Hesselbrock to the county clerk’s position. Qualifications? My understanding is Hesselbrock’s experience is based in nursing. Granted she did run for the seat and barely lost, but with a presidential election coming up and taking an office over, that has exhausted its budget.
I must ask the question, what was Bill Karrer thinking? Another back room secret deal? On the job training?

With grateful hearts, Guard Duty thanks the men and women who have served and are serving in our armed forces for the sake of freedom, justice and honor.
Saturday, Guard Duty presented its annual Veterans Honor Service honoring our veterans with a glorious morning of pomp and circumstance, respect and integrity. Many veterans ranging from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan attended and shared their amazing stories and experiences with the public. What heroes walk among us!

As a homeowner in Old South Plantation and a newcomer to Taylorsville, I’d like to respond to Tracy DeVore’s letter to the editor in the Oct. 12 edition, defending her home in Taylorsville Place.
First, may I say how very sorry I am that she did not attend the meeting she referenced in her letter. Excerpts from a news article many times are not enough information to make wise judgments.
