The class of 2011, teachers, staff and administration would like to thank all who contributed to the senior project this year.
We had a total of 169 mentors throughout the year that offered our students opportunities such as: assisting in delivering babies, sitting in on surgeries of animals and humans, gathering evidence from corpses, andassisting with reporting on fashion on Millionaire’s Row at the Kentucky Derby.
Over the entire day of exit interviews we had a total of 49 volunteers interviewing seniors.

The recent coverage concerning the funding of the Taylorsville-Spencer County Economic Development Authority has left me very concerned and confused. I am very concerned because I feel we certainly need an entity whose primary purpose is to help attract and retain businesses in Taylorsville and Spencer County. I am confused because of the various reasons given and the methods that are being used to justify ending funding for EDA by the county.

The Kentucky Gourd Society would like to say thank you for the support of the Kentucky Gourd Art Show held in May.
Although the KGS Board has many chairpersons who work tireless months before, it takes the support of others outside that board. The Main Street Committee, works to make sure that Main Street is in its best “gourd attire”; it does not go unnoticed by our visitors. They were very impressed by our town.

Tom Snider was the son of Dr. T.J. Snider. He went to a “one room, two room” country school. He came to Taylorsville High School for four years.
When he graduated, he told Bob Green, the FFA teacher, “I have learned more in your class than in my 12 years of schooling.”
Twenty years passed. The door bell rang.
It was Bob Green, Sidney Wyatt and Hubert Hume to see Tom. They came to bask in Bob Green’s “sunlight.”
It stayed with him all of his life.
