When we think of heroes, we often think of the bravery shown by firefighters, policemen, soldiers and the citizen who jumps in Taylorsville Lake to save a drowning child. They are truly heroes.
But I have in mind another kind of hero: the heroes who show love and compassion to the elderly and disabled who need help with daily care, special training to regain strength and functioning, intensive medical monitoring, and/or mental stimulation. Mostly, they need love, attention, respect and unconditional positive regard.
