Your Sept. 19 edition carried a letter about a great concern to not only its author, Terrance Barnes, but also to all of us who travel Highway 155/55 at Elk Creek. The letter cited the problems with the intersection of Normandy Road and Highway 155. Everyone knows what a death trap this intersection has become. It seems a month doesn’t go by without another death or a week without another bloody accident.

I would like to thank you for printing the story about the horse show we held for Blake Hundley and his family. It was a huge success. Over 500 people came through the gate, we made a total of $12,010.88.
It is truly amazing how the community came together for this special little boy.
I would like to thank the Waddy Ruritan Club for donating the grounds and building for the day, without them it would not have been possible. Also, the Waddy Saddle Club, which let us use all of their equipment. Again without them the show would not have been possible.  

It is with much anticipation that I look forward to reading The Spencer Magnet every week when it is delivered to our home. Unfortunately, this week’s edition was a cause for much concern on my part.
The headline of the paper was naturally an eye-catcher, but reading the entire article about the actions of a sex offender who resides in Spencer County was enough to turn one’s stomach.
