We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone involved with Shop-With-A-Cop. Everyone who donated, volunteered as a chaperon, drove a vehicle, etc. Without everyone of you it would have been impossible. With your donations we were able to provide each child with a shopping trip for items they needed, some toys, a fruit basket, a ham, and a food basket. 100% of your donations go to our county’s children.

“What’s to-day!” cried Scrooge, calling down to a boy in Sunday clothes. “What’s today, my fine fellow?” said Scrooge.

“Today!” replied the boy. “Why, Christmas Day.”

“It’s Christmas day!” said Scrooge to himself. “I haven’t missed it. The Spirits have done it all in one night.”

I would like to thank the Spencer Magnet on last week’s story concerning the possibility of Taylorsville Lake State Park getting a world class disc golf course.

Disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and is rapidly gaining popularity worldwide. Disc golf can provide several benefits to this community because it promotes health and fitness, encourages recreation, and provides a healthy alternative to physical contact sports.
