When I vote next month, I’ll be pulling the lever for John McCain in the presidential race. I’m not completely sold that he’s the bastion of conservatism that I believe our nation is in dire need of, but my vote will be more of a tool of opposition against two forces that have combined to create a very real danger to the very heart of America.

We have waited several years for water on Akins Road. July 2008 was the magic time. All papers filed, signed and the digging began. We were so thankful.

There was one of our city commissioners that checked, called, came and stayed very involved: Lynda Huckleberry. She was not to gain politically as we do not vote for city commissioners. Ms. Lynda was “just doing her job.”

If I could vote, needless to say, yes, Ms. Lynda, you would have our vote on Akens Road.
