The Taylorsville Lake Conservation Association would like to thank all of those that helped us with the 9th annual Taylorsville Lake Clean Sweep on Sept 27. Thanks to everyone involved we were able to clean up approximately 60 yards of trash and had 272 volunteers that helped with efforts to help keep Taylorsville Lake the most beautiful lake in the region.   Along with several individuals, 9 Girl Scout Troops, 2 Cub Scout Packs and 1 youth group helped out with the clean up.

Thank you for your Matter of Opinion article this week!  It’s about time somebody called a spade a spade. 

Sandy Clevenger has done nothing but stand up for our kids in this district! She always has “doing the right thing” at the top of list of things to do.  She researches when she needs an answer and doesn’t give in to peer pressure.  She isn’t looking for her name in the paper or for friends in high places.  She is here for all the right reasons. 

Thanks to all the volunteers who made Spencer County and Taylorsville the best it could be over the past three weekends.

Starting with the First Annual Taylorsville Kentucky Heritage Festival; hundreds of people from all around the region, including international Ryder Cup guests, enjoyed a wonderful mix of fine Kentucky art, antiques, folk music and home town hospitality.  Nice work Main Street Committee!
