  • Fall Litter Abatement Drawing Near

Even though our visitors to the county may have been careful with their disposable items, the recent mowing of the roads in the county show we still have a long way to go in conquering general litter.

  • LETTER: Correction to list of contributors

I apologize on behalf of myself and Guard Duty, Inc. for the mistake made in last week’s edition thanking our sponsors and contributors of this year’s Veterans Celebration, November 8.

My apology is offered to Jessica and Michael Nation of Home Store Florist and Gifts. I mistakenly referred to them as Home Town Florists. Guard Duty appreciates their support by their donation for the day’s events.

  • Thanks from TES

During the month of September the first grade students at Taylorsville Elementary learned first hand about the different jobs in and around our community.

  • Appreciation for Octoberfest help

I would like to thank everyone that made a donation to the Octoberfest or helped out in any way – especially Mike Fulkerson and Les for working the sound for us. They worked very hard both Friday and Saturday for the festival.

  • LETTER: Vandalism of war memorial needs to stop

I am writing this letter because I was appalled when I attended the POW/MIA Memorial Service September 19 in front of the Veterans Monument and Wall of Honor to find out from the maintenance worker that once again there is vandalism being done to this Memorial. He informed those in attendance that the names of soldiers that have served this great country are being ripped off and thrown in the street to be run over by cars or walked on by pedestrians. He has picked them up and placed them back on the Wall of Honor.

  • LETTER: Victim treated unfairly

I want people to know that Kristen Edmondson Grubb has been unfairly treated by a Louisville television station. She was portrayed as a bad person, but Kristen is a loving mother, a great friend to many people and loved by all of her family.
