Spencer County Elementary kindergarten registration will be Dec. 2-6 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Extended evening registration will be on Tuesday, Dec. 3 until 7 p.m.
Children who will be 5 years old by Oct. 1, 2014, and are not currently enrolled in Spencer County Preschool should register.
To be fully enrolled the following must be on file:
•Proof of residency
•A copy of the original birth certificate (not a hospital certificate)
•A copy of the student’s Social Security card
•Current immunization certificate

If the events of this life make you cry, remember that God is there to wipe your tears away. We need to remember that the saints in heaven were not necessarily very saintly people here on this earth. Matter of fact some of the dirty rotten sinners here in church today will make it to heaven and be counted among the saints in heaven. Shocking isn’t it? Some wonder how can this be?
The civil case between Taylorsville resident Lawrence Trageser and two high-ranking Spencer County Sheriff’s Department employees will be heard in state-level circuit court, despite an effort to move the matter into federal court.
This week, Spencer County High School will participate in College Application Week, which is a national initiative to encourage and give every high school senior the opportunity to apply to college and make realistic plans for their future.
In last week’s column, it was presented that the blame game is not a new phenomenon. It has been going on since the days of Adam and Eve. Today, some blame all personal and even family problems on someone else, I guess with the goal of accepting little or no responsibility for their own choices of behavior and patterns of living that they have chosen.
As long as I can remember I’ve been celebrating Thanksgiving with my family. As a kid I remember going to my grandparents and sitting at the kids table. I remember that Pop-Pop’s prayers always seemed way too long.
