Mike and Kathy Brown of Taylorsville would like to announce the college graduation of their children, Alex and Katie Brown. Both children attended Spencer County schools.
Alex is graduating from the University of Louisville this Saturday with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in computer information systems. Katie graduated May 4 from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in aerospace engineering.

After three meetings full of questions and discussion about the City of Taylorsville’s budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year, the City Commission voted 4-1 Wednesday night to approve the budget as originally presented.
Commissioner Beverly Ingram voted against the budget, while Mayor Don Pay and commissioners Jack Proctor, Kathy Spears and Ellen Redmon voted in favor of it.
