The USDA-Farm Service Agency is accepting new offers and approving new contracts under CRP’s Continuous, CREP, FWP and SAFE signups.
The following practices are available under continuous signup:
CP-8A Grass Waterways Non-easement; CP-9 Shallow Water Areas for Wildlife; CP-21 Filter Strips, CP-22 Riparian Buffers, CP-29 Marginal Pastureland and Wildlife Habitat Buffer, CP-23 Wetland Restoration; CP-33 Habitat Buffers for Upland Birds; and CP-38 State Acres for Wildlife, and CP-42 Pollinator Habitat.

Residents and property owners of Maple Avenue look over a map depicting their property lines at a meeting at the City Hall Annex last Tuesday. Residents were invited to give their input on a project that will bring sidewalks, light poles, landscaping and drainage work to their street. A formal plan is being developed, and more meetings regarding the project are forthcoming.

4-H Relay for Life team selling doughnuts to raise funds
The Spencer County Relay for Life 4-H team is selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts to benefit the annual cancer research fundraiser. Glazed doughnuts are $7 per dozen and chocolate doughnuts are $8 per dozen. There are also other Krispy Kreme items available for purchase. The last day to order is Thursday. Anyone wishing to order should email Darla Browning at darla.browning@spencer.kyschools.us.

The City of Taylorsville recently received a $5,320 safety grant from the Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Services.
