City Receives Grant For Sewage Plant;
$21,793 Approved
The Public Health Service this week approved a $21,793 grant to be applied to construction of a sewage disposal plant for Taylorsville.
Proposed by the Phelps Engineering Company is a package disposal plant, which would operate above or below ground, but would require supervision. The unit would accomodate 2,000 to 3,000 families.

From the outside, the new Spencer County High School gym doesn’t look very big. On the inside, pictured above, it looks enormous.
It is 102 feet by 104 feet, said Superintendent Lloyd Mullins. “It’s about the same size as Bullitt East but we won’t have a balcony.”
Mullins said the Spencer County gym will seat 1,500, compared to the 400 capacity seating in the old gym.

Holiday meals, especially Thanksgiving, often go hand-in-hand with turkey. In fact, it’s probably safe to say that more homes will be serving turkey on the major fall and winter holidays than any other item. Many family cooks have prepared this favorite for years and years with recipes and instructions that have been lovingly handed down through generations and which they, in turn, will hand down to their children. In some homes, cooking the first turkey might even be seen as a rite of passage.

Assertiveness is an attitude and a way of acting in any situation where you need to do something like:
• express your feelings.
• ask for what you want.
• say “no” to something you don’t want.
But, you say, “to become assertive seems to have the belief that I have the right to ask for what I want.” That’s right!
