    2008 Kentucky 4-H Dairy Judging Team

     The 2008 Kentucky 4-H Dairy Judging Team members were:  Brad Taylor of Henry County, Makenzie Waymeyer of Kenton County, Casandra Peterson of Spencer County and Brandon Poynter of Barren County.  The team participated in the Pennsylvania All American Invitational Dairy Judging Contest in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on September 15.

    SCHS Dance Team Grand Champions

     The SCHS Dance Team won First in Varsity Hip Hop this weekend at the HalloJam competition.  The team also scored the highest score over all winning the title of Grand Champion.  Teams from the Tri-State area attend the event each year. This was the first time the team competed with their new Hip Hop routine. They received an elite score of 9.113 and earned a Gold bid to the the U.S. finals.

     October 23-31 has been declared National Red Ribbon Week. David Jenkins, county judge executive, signed a proclamation making it Red Ribbon week in Spencer County.

    Wednesday, October 8, the Smile Kentucky Program came to our school. The Colgate Van was here for dental screenings, in which 2-3 dentists did the screenings.  Students received dental items after the presentation.

  • Weed control options after dry...

     Dry weather conditions this summer following another dry season last year have resulted in grazed pastures with areas that have thin vegetative cover and bare soil. Much of these areas already has evidence of weedy vegetation such as common ragweed and other summer annuals. As these plants die back naturally, cool-season weeds such as common chickweed, henbit and purple deadnettle will fill in the voids.
