    4-H youth from across the nation will be “Keeping It Green” as they celebrate 2008 National 4-H Week October 5-11 by raising awareness about environmental issues and initiating environmental projects that make a positive difference in their communities .

    Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #210 will be having an all-you-can-eat country ham breakfast from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.  Saturday. The breakfast is $6 per person. Carry-out is available. Everyone is welcome.

    While it’s true Kentucky beef producers have enjoyed higher prices in the past couple of years, feed costs have soared leaving producers wondering what the future holds. The Kentucky Beef Conference Oct. 28 at the Fayette County Cooperative Extension office aims to teach producers how to plan today for tomorrow’s markets.

  •  The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ Law Enforcement Division is looking for a different kind of recruit. Only those with four legs and a tail need apply.

    The division’s K-9 unit needs four new donated dogs to add to its patrol. Nine dogs currently assist Kentucky conservation officers with their duties.
