Frankfort – The Kentucky Commission on Women (KCW) is currently seeking female artists from Kentucky to paint portraits of the 2009 Kentucky Women Remembered Exhibit honorees. Bids must be submitted by Dec. 1, 2008.

While it’s true Kentucky beef producers have enjoyed higher prices in the past couple of years, feed costs have soared leaving producers wondering what the future holds. The Kentucky Beef Conference Oct. 28 at the Fayette County Cooperative Extension office aims to teach producers how to plan today for tomorrow’s markets.

 As I opened my eyes, I was dizzy and confused; my familiar world was gone. My computer had disappeared, my bright desk lamp was now an oil lantern and the TV had vanished! As I tried to digest what I saw, it became clear. While holding the penny tightly and closing my eyes, I had traveled back in time. I didn’t know if it was an overactive imagination or the traumatic experience of the Ferris wheel, but somehow, I had journeyed to 1909 – and had brought my family with me.
