Geraldine Ann Travis, of Taylorsville, 75, went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 27, 2024, after a four-year battle with dementia.

Geri passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Geri was born in Grayson County, on Jan. 26, 1949, to parents Kenneth and Mary Horn, who preceded her in death.

Geri is survived by Jim, her loving husband of 51 years; son, Keith (Sarah) Travis; grandsons, Caleb and Sam Travis, all of Taylorsville; sister, Kathy (Juan) Morales of St. Louis, MI; niece, Heather Morales of Puyallup, WA; nephew, J.D. Morales of St. Louis; and special friend, Susan Bartig.

Geri dedicated her life to her savior Jesus Christ at an early age, and that dedication lasted her entire life.

Geri graduated from Manual High school in Louisville in 1967. She also graduated from the University of Louisville in 1992 with highest honors receiving a Bachelor’s degree in physical and elementary education.

Exercise and nutrition was Geri’s life. She was a personal trainer, long distance runner, and operated her own aerobics studio for many years. She also worked as athletic director for the YMCA in Louisville, and Westbay Athletic Club in Bradenton, FL.

Geri was always laughing, and cherished being with Jim, just sitting on the dock at their lake, or riding with the top down in the 66 Corvette, and spending time with her grandsons, and her children Keith and Sarah.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Alzheimer’s Association.

Cremation was chosen, and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, at North Point church of Christ, located at 372 Loop Road Fisherville.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., followed by a celebration of life. Minister and very close friend Barry Leake will lead the celebration.
