  • Bears win fourth in a row

     

    After stumbling out of the gate with a season-opening loss to Bardstown, the Spencer County Bears have now rolled off four consecutive victories, coming to the halfway point of the regular season with a 4-1 record following Friday night’s 34-12 win over Bullitt Central.

    Coach Mike Marksbury is happy with the winning streak, but said there’s much room for improvement.

  • Lady Bears Volleyball

     

    The girls fell to the Lady Titans 3 games to none, by scores of 25-12, 25-17 and 25-15. However, the girls got back on the winning track last week when they traveled to Woodford County and scored a 2-1 victory, dropping the first set 24-26, but bouncing back to claim the last two by scores of 25-20 and 25-16. Spencer County is now  6-9 on the season and have a full schedule this week. They were scheduled to host Shelby County Monday night, and were to travel to Washington County on Tuesday and play at Henry County on Thursday.

  • Grizzlies beat Oldham, 34-16

     

    The Spencer County Miiddle School Grizzlies completed their regular season Tuesday night with at 34-16 victory over Oldham County at home. The Bears finished the regular season with a 6-3 record.

  • Girls compete at North Oldham CC...

    The Spencer County Cross Country team ran on September 10th  at Rumble Through the Jungle, which is held by North Oldham.

    After two weeks of hard practices, the Varsity girls were ready for their race. Sophomore Lindsey Bush was the first Spencer County runner to cross the finish line with a time of 22:31.01, which earned her 37th place. Hayley Wethington placed 62nd place at 23:30.51, and Junior Tabitha Martin finished with a time of 26:06.77.

  • Volleyball team 5-7 on season

     

    The girls are 5-7 on the season after dropping 3 of 4 in a tournament in Woodford County over the weekend and a victory last week over Bullitt Central. The girls were scheduled to play CAL at home on Monday, host Collins on Tuesday and will travel to Woodford County on Thursday.

  • Bears soccer

     

    The boys hosted Anderson County on Saturday and dropped a narrow 5-4 decision and are now 3-4-1 on the season. The boys are on the road this week with a game scheduled Tuesday at Bullitt Central, then on Thursday at Bullitt East and they will travel to Owen County on Saturday.

  • Lady Bears soccer

     

    The girls scored a huge 11-0 win over Louisville Brown, with Cailey Merideth scoring seven goals and Jenna Russell recording seven assists in the victory. The Lady Bears also claimed a 7-0 win over Hart County and dropped a 4-1 decision to John Hardin last week. The girls, 4-4-1 on the season, were scheduled to host Anderson County on Monday and Bullitt Central on Tuesday.
