  • Crappie tournament for Kosairs...

    The Mt. Washington FOP Lodge #82 will sponsor the Fishing for Kosair Kids Crappie Tournament at Taylorsville Lake next month.
    Originally set for April, flooding has pushed the date back to May 16 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. The entry fee is $50, with the first place prize of $500 based on a minimum of 50 boats. There will also be a cookout and raffle after the tournament. Check-in will be at the Possum Ridge Boat Ramp.

  • Sign up now for girls hoops camp

    The Spencer County Lady Bears Basketball Team will host a Youth Basketball Camp on June 8-11 for girls from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
    The camp will be held at the high school from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
    The camp will be $50, (which includes a T-shirt) and if you register by June 1, you can save $10 on registration. There are also family discounts for siblings.

  • Lady Bears softball blend youth...

    The Spencer County Lady Bears Softball Coach Jimmy Thompson hopes to blend experience and youth this season. The girls are off to a 2-4 start this season, with two of the losses being one-run affairs and Thompson remains optimistic.
    “I like what I see so far. We have a good team balance and chemistry,” he said. “They play well together and they seem to like one another.”

  • SCMS Grizzlies Dance Team wins...

    On March 21st the SCMS Grizzlies Dance Team won 1st place and Ultimate Grand Champion at the Cheer Elite Super Nationals Competition held at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. The Grizzlies had the highest scoring routine and were able to take home the national title.

  • Spencer County Bears senior...

     

    Nathan Connard, a senior pitcher for Spencer County delivers a pitch during a recent home game for the Bears. Spencer County’s baseball team is off to a 4-1 start following a 7-4 win at Carroll County and a 12-2 victory over Seneca last week. This week, the Bears were to host Western Hills on Monday and Fairdale on Tuesday with a return trip to Fairdale set for Friday. Next week, the boys will travel to Fort Walton Beach for a spring break baseball tournament.
