  • Grizzlies rally, win 28-20

    The Spencer County Middle School Grizzlies completed an amazing fourth-quarter rally to secure the school’s first-ever state playoff win with a 28-20 victory over the North Hardin Spartans Saturday evening in Radcliff.

  • Stallions host PRP Panthers

    The Spencer County Stallions hosted PRP in the final game of the regular season this past Saturday. The Mighty Mights (ages 5-7) played hard all day.

    Spencer County defender Nicholas Dysinger connects on a kick to send the ball upfield in a recent game against North Oldham. The boys fell in the opening round of the 30th District Tournament, 9-0 to Collins. The Bears ended their season with a mark of 5-13-1.

    The Spencer County High School Lady Bears soccer team was named runner-up in the 30th district. The Lady Bears defeated Collins 2-1 last Monday, but fell to Anderson County in the championship. The team moved onto the 8th Region tournament and defeated Owen County 7-0 and was scheduled to face South Oldham in the second round on Tuesday after press time.

    Spencer County girls’ soccer players, from left, Cheyenne McKinley, Haylee McManus and Madison Ratchford were named to the 30th District All-Tournament team after last Wednesday’s district championship game at Collins High School. Anderson County defeated Spencer County, 2-0, for the title.

    At the turn, his Wildcats are oh-fer against America’s third, fourth, 18th and 19th ranked teams, and Western Kentucky received votes also, in the coaches poll.
    The turn for UK football amounts to more than half a season. Many in Big Blue Nation have already turned the page to basketball.
