    On August 26, the Spencer County Cross Country team had their first 5k of the season at the St. X Tiger Run. On the way to the race, the bus was silent with faint sleepy whispers every now and then. Everyone’s nerves were noticeable as we got closer to where the meet was held, but we were all optimistic as the morning progressed.  

  • Lady Bears are 2-2 on the season

     

    The Lady Bears are 2-2 on the season, and were scheduled to host Evangel Christian on Monday night and Bullitt East on Wednesday.

  • Lady Bears battling

     

    The Spencer County Lady Bears soccer team has tasted defeat three times since their season-opening win over Henry County.  In a 3-1 loss at North Bullitt, the girls got a goal from Cailey Meredith off an assist from Morgan Lurie. In their 6-1 defeat against Christian Academy of Louisville, Lurie scored the lone goal for the Lady Bears.

    The girls will try to get back on the winning track this week. They were scheduled to travel to Marion County on Monday and will host Atherton Wednesday night, before they get a week off.

  • Bears bounce back, win 55-12

     

    Kadin Smith scored four touchdowns and the Spencer County Bears again looked dominant in a 55-12 rout over Nelson County Friday night. Smith scored on offense, on defense and special teams to pace the Bears.

    “Kadin is an elite player who can change the game in so many ways,” said Bears coach Mike Marksbury. “Anytime he touches the ball he has a chance to score, and that is a tremendous weapon.”

  • Sports Briefs - Week of August...

    Basketball Camp at CCA

    Cornerstone Christian Academy will be having a four week basketball camp all four Saturdays of September beginning September 3rd.  The camp will be led by Current Cornerstone Christian Academy coach Jason Bradshaw and current college and high school coaches.
    The camp will be held at CCA located at 3850 Frankfort Road in Shelbyville.
    K through 5th grade will meet from 9 a.m. through noon, and 6th grade through 12th grade will be 1 to 4 p.m.  The camp is for both boys and girls.
