  • Spencer County Bears open season...

     

     The Spencer County Bears split two games last week as they opened the 2014 baseball season. The Bears hosted Louisville Seneca on a windy Friday afternoon and dropped a 7-4 decision. On Saturday, the boys traveled to Warsaw where they scored a 5-3 victory over Gallatin County in eight innings. The boys were scheduled to be back home Wednesday against Fairdale. They will be at Bullitt East on Thursday, at Trimble County on Saturday.

    Spencer County student Sebastian Blythe holds the title for Spencer County out Heavyweight Champion. Blythe placed second in the state in the Kentucky Youth Wrestling Tournament. The tournament was held in Lexington at Alltech Arena Horse Park on Feb. 24. He as lead by his coaches Scott Thompson, Desmond Nelson, Eric Walker, Bill O’Neal, Patrick Maines and Chris Price.
